Grown-up Starry 2

I finished the last post with a photo of Grown-up Starry laid flat (see above).
The armhole is quite particular because, as I wrote, I wanted a close-fitting dropped shoulder pullover, with no bulk at the underarm. And it took me months to “develop” this armhole!

As promised, here’s the pullover on me 🙂

The shoulders are dropped off the shoulder point, and as you can see, there is NO BULK at the underarm!

The back is knitted simply in Stockinette stitch, as Starry pullover.

The color is subtly exquisite, isn’t it?
I used Pimprenelle of Graine de laine, hand-dyed in France by very talented dyer and photographer Laurence (@froufrouetcapucine).
Pimprenelle is a fingering weight yarn in 100% superwash baby merinos, with a generous yardage of 400 m (440 yds) for 100 g. But it is not so thin as fingering weight yarn with this yardage and can be knitted 24 sts for 10 cm with no problem.

And here’s a close-up photo of the stitch pattern and the yarn!

Do you like this design? What do you think about the fit?
I’d love to hear from you 🙂

    1. Thank you, Kate! I’m developing a set-in sleeve version and will ask what the knitters prefer, stay tuned!
