Fukinsei – My Zen garden – in English

My Zen Garden was first published as Fukinsei shawl in Wabisabi: The beauty of artisanally made yarns by Nomad noos in 2022. Fukinsei, irregularity, is the sub-theme I was attributed and is one of the aspects of theis Japanese aesthetic wabisabi.
Wabisabi brings to mind landscapes seen in Kyoto, in particular the Zen garden of Ryoan-ji temple and its raked gravel representing wavelets.
The shawl is entirely worked in 1×2 twisted rib stitch and waves are formed and reformed as the rows progress with increases and decreases. I hope you get familiar with the stitch to the extent that you can hear the murmuring of water.
