I’m happy to share my latest FO at last in English 😉
It’s “… a hint of summer” by Isabell Kraemer, a lightweight summer pullover for chilly summer mornings and cool evenings that often happen in the Northern half of France (unfortunately, we don’t have the weather of la Provence).
I’d actually begun this sweater in last September when we still had sunny and warm days (and named the project “late summer”). But the weather rapidly deteriorated and I didn’t want to work on this light pullover that I won’t wear in the next 6 months at least.
We moved in the meantime and the sweater was put in one of the countless cardboard boxes of wool and wips – no, I only had 5 or 6!.
I woke it up from its loooong hibernation in June, after long-awaited beautiful days came back. Surprisingly, I had only sleeves left, it didn’t take long time to finish the project.
The pullover has a very relaxed-fitting, but it is particularly on me, and the silhouette looks like Boxy and Butonny by joji or Relax by ririko.
A picture is worth thousand words, isn’t it?
The pattern is clear, easy to follow and above all, interesting to knit because the construction is rather particular: the sweater is knit from the top down but you don’t start at the neck – I think Isabell is inspired by Barbara Walker.
And the Coast from Holst Garn is light but warm, just perfect for this sweater. I nevertheless want to add a remark for those who want to try it: it can shrink vertically after washing (4 to 6 rows for me). Block your swatch before beginning your work to avoid any nasty surprise.
I’m very proud and honored that the first photo is on the pattern page of Ravelry. Thank you, Isabell!
